About Us
The Nubian Queens Empowerment Initiative was founded in response to the ongoing challenges faced by women and girls in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan who have endured years of war, displacement, poverty and social marginalisation. We are dedicated to restoring hope, dignity and opportunity to Nubian Women and girls through education, economic empowerment, psychosocial healing and leadership development.
Our Initiatives

Women's Economic Empowerment
Supporting women to build financial independence, skills, and sustainable livelihoods. We empower women with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to achieve economic independence. We break down barriers to employment, entrepreneurship, and financial stability through culturally grounded, practical, and supportive programs.

Girls's Education and Mentorship
We nurture the growth, confidence, and leadership potential of girls and young women through academic support, mentorship, and cultural empowerment. We help young women to build strong identities and pathways to a strong future.

Health and Wellbeing
Deliver a culturally grounded health and wellbeing program designed to uplift, empower and strengthen marginalised women. Our program centres on holistic healing, cultural pride, and community connection, ensuring women feel seen, safe, and supported as they navigate physical, emotional, and social wellbeing challenges.

Leadership and Advocacy
Empowering women to lead, influence, and advocate for change. We strengthen the leadership capacity of marginalised and displaced women by providing culturally grounded opportunities to build confidence, amplify their voices, and influence positive change within their families, communities, and broader systems.

Peace building and Cultural preservation
We lead a transformative peace-building and cultural preservation program designed to support marginalised and displaced women in strengthening harmony, healing, and cultural identity within their communities. We help women become agents of peace, understanding, and cultural continuity.

Community development and Humanitarian support
Building stronger communities and ensuring no woman is left behind, we support displaced and marginalized women through community-led initiatives and compassionate humanitarian assistance. Our approach centers on dignity, solidarity, and empowerment, ensuring women have the resources, networks, and support they need to thrive.
"Before the Nubian Queens Empowerment team visited our camp, I felt invisible. I had lost confidence and thought my dreams no longer mattered because of everything I had been through, but during the outreach, the mentors spoke to us with love and truth. They reminded me I am strong, that my story is not over and that I can rise. The sessions on self-worth and courage helped me see myself in a different light. Now I can walk with pride knowing I am a queen with purpose. I've started volunteering to help other girls believe in themselves too. The Nubian Queens Project didn't just bring us hope, they helped us find our voices again"

Our impact
Thanks to your incredible support, on the 22nd of November, we delivered emergency food assistance to families who fled the war and are now sheltering in the enbal internally displaced people (IDP)camp in South Kordofan, Nuba Mountains, Sudan.

Over 150 people received life-saving food support, providing women, children, and the elderly with the nourishment and stability they urgently needed. Many families fled the war with nothing. They are currently sleeping out in the open, exposed to cold nights and hunger.

Basic human rights such as access to shelter, clean water, food, and security are still out of reach for these families.

Your support has enabled us to provide life-saving food assistance, but the need remains dire. Your continued generosity can help provide clean water and better shelter for families sleeping in the open.
